Penalties for Shedden, Scott and Austin at Thruxton
Honda Racing Team’s Gordon Shedden has lost his fifth position from the final race of the day at Thruxton, promoting Jack Goff back up the order in his place.
The stewards ruled that Shedden had passed the Team BMR Vauxhall Insignia under yellow flags into Church on lap 17, and reversed the positions.
Penalties were also handed out to Warren Scott and Rob Austin after the second race of the day.
Team BMR’s Scott, who was given a reprimand for an incident with James Cole in race one, made contact with Dan Welch in the second race and was ruled to be at fault.
This was his third penalty of the season, so he was sent to the back of the grid for the final race.
Austin was excluded from the results for the contact with Nick Foster, which saw the West Surrey Racing man have a big accident at Church.
Austin appealed the penalty, but this was rejected. He has also been given four points on his competition licence.
Other issues are still being considered by the stewards. Goff has also protested the driving of Fabrizio Giovanardi and Mat Jackson, the latter for allegedly passing under yellow flags.
The incident between Matt Neal and Rob Collard in the final race is also being investigated.
