Tom Coronel should make the first test in Hungary after all

ROAL Motorsport are on target to get Tom Coronel’s Chevrolet RML Cruze out a day earlier than planned so the Dutchman can get out for the 30 minute test session on Friday, and use that as a shakedown of the car which was destroyed three weeks’ ago in Marrakech, forcing him to miss the last race in France.

The Chevrolet has been repaired by the car’s builders RML, the 2010-2013 WTCC championship winning squad, and then sent back to the Venice based team’s HQ, where it has been transported to the Hungaroroing circuit where final repairs are taking place.

“The team told me it wouldn’t be ready, but then Pietro (Speronello, Tom’s engineer) told me last night it should be OK,” said Coronel to TouringCarTimes. “We’re still finding a few problems, we just discovered the suspension is broken for example. But at least I can shakedown the car this afternoon.”
