Marc Hynes excluded from race two result

Triple Eight’s Marc Hynes has been excluded from the results of the second race at Brands Hatch, following an incident with Martin Depper.

Series debutant Hynes has also been hit with four points on his racing licence for the clash at Graham Hill Bend on lap 19. The MG6 driver made contact with the rear of Depper’s Eurotech Racing Honda Civic on the exit of the corner, causing him to hit the barrier on the inside.

Depper retired on the spot, and Hynes continued to finish 20th. He will now start the final race of the day from the back of the grid.

“We were battling for 20th and there’s no intention to be pitching anyone off,” said Hynes to TouringCarTimes.

“The stewards have viewed it was my fault – it certainly wasn’t the intention. I got the run on him and he was slow out. Very quickly we touched and he went off. It was a regrettable incident, and not something we want to be doing regularly.”

Giving his view of the incident, Depper said: “I had a couple of goes at Marc early on and managed to make one stick. Fair play to Marc, he was obviously trying to have a go back at me very quickly afterwards, and just made a little mistake and collected me.”
