Teams out in force at overcast Brands Hatch test
Seven of the 16 teams which will contest the 2014 British Touring Car Championship are testing today at a cold and overcast Brands Hatch Indy circuit in Kent.
West Surrey Racing’s three BMW 125i Ms, driven by Colin Turkington, Rob Collard and Nick Foster are running in a plain grey livery.
Honda Racing Team have both of their new Civic Tourers running for Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden, with Shedden running in the unliveried car.
Motorbase Performance are here at their local circuit, with 2007 and 2008 champion Fabrizio Giovanardi driving the Airwaves branded Ford Focus ST and Jack Clarke behind the green Crabbie’s sponsored car. The satellite AmD Tuning team are also present with new signing Dave Newsham driving their new Focus ST.
United Autosports and Speedworks Motorsport are running their combined four Toyota Avensis cars for James Cole, Glynn Geddie, Simon Belcher and Tom Ingram.
Eurotech Racing are fielding just the one Honda Civic for 2013 champion Andrew Jordan at the test, who is reportedly the quickest in the test session, but there is no official time keeping.
The morning session has been relatively uneventful, though Simon Belcher lost out on a lot of running after sliding off into Druids on cold tyres just over an hour in, and the session was briefly red flagged.
