BTCC teams out in force for wet Thruxton test
Several BTCC teams braved wet and wild conditions to clock up valuable miles at a test day at Thruxton.
Among the seven squads taking part were United Autosports, with drivers James Cole and Glynn Geddie enjoying a maiden run in their NGTC Toyota Avensis.
But it was a trying day for teenager Aiden Moffat, who had a sizeable off in his Chevrolet Cruze while trying to avoid hitting a rabbit, causing significant damage to his car.
Writing on his Twitter page after the accident, Moffat said: “Thanks for the concern guys. Bit sore but nothing bad. Also the car will be okay. That’s the last time I swerve to avoid a bunny rabbit!”
Also on track were reigning champion Andrew Jordan, and his new Eurotech Racing team-mate Martin Depper, along with Honda Racing Team’s Matt Neal and Gordon Shedden in their new Civic Tourer.
West Surrey Racing were also present with newly re-signed trio Colin Turkington, Rob Collard and Nick Foster; alongside Triple Eight’s Sam Tordoff and Mark Hynes, and Rob Austin in his Audi A4.
