2014 FIA European Touring Car Cup calendar announced
The calendar for the 2014 FIA European Touring Car Cup has been officially confirmed, with five events being held in Europe for the Cup which has developed into a key proving ground for teams and drivers wishing to move up into the WTCC.
Four of the events will share dates with the FIA World Touring Car Championship. Those events are at Paul Ricard, Slovakiaring, Salzburgring and Spa-Francorchamps, before the season finale on September 28th, which will be held at Pergusa on the island of Sicily, Italy.
New to the calendar therefore are the WTCC’s two new European rounds in France and Belgium, at the expense of the season opener in Monza and a race in the Czech Republic, which hosted last year’s season finale at Brno, and saw local driver Petr Fulín crownded the Super 2000 class champion.
