No penalties after incident-packed Phillip Island weekend

The V8 Supercars stewards have issued no penalties after the incident-packed race weekend at Phillip Island.

The most debated incidents included Mark Winterbottom and Craig Lowndes in the first race, as well as Alexandre Prémat and James Courtney. The second race saw David Reynolds and Chaz Mostert colliding and taking out Russell Ingall, with James Moffat and Shane Van Gisbergen coming together in the final race.

Triple Eight filed a protest against the decision to not penalise Winterbottom’s move on Lowndes while fighting for the lead in the final corner of the first leg in the first race, a protest thrown out by the stewards.

A total of ten incidents were reviewed by the stewards after the three races and all were deemed racing incidents.
