Gianni Morbidelli takes final pole position of the year

Gianni Morbidelli dominated the qualifying session ahead of the Italian Superstars Series finale in Franciacorta, taking pole position by over a second. The Audi Sport Italia driver will have title rival Vitantonio Liuzzi alongside him, who was seven thousandths quicker in his Romeo Ferraris Mercedes than rookie Nicola Baldan’s Team Dinamic BMW M3 E92.

Ermanno Dionisio, who returns to the Superstars Series after a long absence, will start from the second row in his Audi RS 5. Francesca Linossi will occupy fifth position at her home track in the second BMW M3 E92, with a struggling Thomas Biagi starting from sixth in his Mercedes C63 AMG. The Romeo Ferraris driver is suffering from set-up issues at the Brescia circuit.

The first race will start tomorrow at 11.15 CET.
