New livery for bamboo-engineering at China & Macau
Yokohama Drivers’ Trophy leading squad bamboo-engineering will have an all new livery for the two final rounds of this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship.
The Silverstone-based squad will feature a dedicated livery for new sponsor ZENRISE at the two Chinese races, a US produced energy drink.
With Nika Racing’s Michel Nykjaer having withdrawn from the Championship before the last round at Suzuka, the British team are safely on target for their first Yokohama title with either one of their drivers, with James Nash currently leading Alex MacDowall by 32 points in the classification.
MacDowall scored his first front row start last time out at Suzuka, the fastest of the Chevrolet equipped drivers, whilst James Nash has continued to score consistently these season, taking his first two career wins at Salzburg and Porto and is also currently fourth in the overall standings, just two points behind former team-mate Tom Chilton.
“I’m in really good form at the moment, I was the top Chevrolet in Japan beating the current world champion,” said MacDowall. “Last year I had some bad luck in Shanghai so I am due some better fortune. I know the Zenrise supporters will be hoping for that too.”
“The Chinese people are incredibly welcoming and the circuit is world class,” added Nash. “We’re now at the business end of the championship and every point counts. I’m hoping the Zenrise partnership will help us out score my rivals.”
