Jake Hill joins Rob Austin Racing for Brands Hatch
BRDC Rising Star Jake Hill will join Rob Austin Racing for the BTCC finale at Brands Hatch, replacing Will Bratt in the team’s second Audi A4.
Hill made his debut in the series at Croft in June, where he took a Jack Sears Trophy win in his maiden race, driving a Motorbase Performance Ford Focus.
The 19-year-old said: “This is undoubtedly the biggest break of my career – the chance to drive a race-winning NGTC car in Britain’s premier motor racing championship and at its biggest event of the year.
“It’s a one-off for now – it’s the finale, after all – so it’s important to grab it with both hands and make the most of it.”
Hill won 10 out of 20 races in the BTCC-supporting Ginetta Junior category in 2010, and in 2011 he won five times in the more powerful Ginetta G50 class. He was also a winner in 2012 in its more senior G55 GT Supercup championship.
