Guangdong hosts the sixth round of the CTCC this weekend
The sixth round of the 2013 China Touring Car Championship takes place this weekend at the Guangdong International Circuit, just two days after their traditional Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Shanghai VW 333 Racing Team will hope to continue their fight back towards the championship this weekend, after Wang Rue’s victory at Chengdu last time out showing the improved performance of the new Volkswagen Polo.
Championship leaders Chang’an Ford FRD Team suffered from tyre problems during the last race, depriving them of a possible podium, but they will therefore carry less weight this weekend at Guangdong which should see them as the favourites for success with their Ford Focus saloons.
Kia Racing will be aiming for a good race at their home event this weekend, whilst G Racing will also be back to compete in the privateers’ trophy, with Macanese driver Alex Liu Lic Ka replacing Zhang Zhi Qiang.
ASR da Marco, which has been absent since the third round at Shanghai’s Tianma Circuit, will return to the grid this weekend with Zhang Sheng Jun in a Chevrolet Cruze and Huang Zhi Zhan in a Fiat Viaggio.
The qualifying will be held at 17:15 (local time) on 21st September.
