Nick Tandy tests Motorbase Focus – and could race it

Factory Porsche GT driver Nick Tandy could be in line to race Motorbase Performance’s third Ford Focus after testing it at Brands Hatch, the team have said.

The 28-year-old ran at the Kent circuit on Friday, and team principal David Bartrum has said it is possible he could race in the BTCC at some stage this season.

Tandy has previously raced for Motorbase in the British GT championship, and also tested BTCC machinery for the team in 2011.

Motorbase is planning to run Tandy again at the two-day Dunlop tyre test at Snetterton next week, which runs on July 9 and 10. Michael Caine, who raced the car at Croft, is also expected to take part.
