Petr Fulín takes pole in close qualifying session

Krenek Motorsport’s Petr Fulín has claimed pole position in one of the closest qualifying sessions of the season in the FIA European Touring Car Cup at the Salzburgring.

Fulín’s time was just 33 thousandths of a second faster than the SEAT León TFSI of Igor Skuz, with the Ukrainian scoring his best qualifying result of the season.

Jordi Oriola led the Single-Make Trophy class in third overall with Tuenti Racing, with Mat’o Homola qualifying in fourth for his family-run team ahead of the NIS Petrol Racing SEAT of Dusan Borkovic.

Ravenol Team GENA’s Kevin Krammes again was fastest in the Super 1600 classification, just under a tenth of a second faster than Gilles Bruckner’s Lux Racing Ford Fiesta.

The session was one of the closest seen all season with the top 14 cars all covered by one second.
