Macau GP Committee announces Diamond Jubilee programme

The Macau Grand Prix Committee today announced an unprecedented programme for the two-weekend Diamond Jubilee Macau Grand Prix. To celebrate the 60th running of the event, the Grand Prix will be held over two weekends, with a total of six days of racing, with the first weekend on November 9th and 10th, and the second from November 14th to 17th.

The weekend of November 9th and 10th will see six races on the legendary Guia street circuit, including the Macau Touring Car Cup, a perennial crowd favourite, is an invitational race which sees up to 36 of Asia’s leading tin-top competitors compete in Super Production cars over 12 laps. Joining the two local and regional touring car races are three sports car sprints, the Audi R8 LMS Cup, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, which returns to the Guia Circuit for the first time since 2007.

The Formula Masters China Series will make also make its debut at Macau. The junior single seater series, for fledgling talent across mainland China and Asia, opens its inaugural season next month and a season finale invitational will be held as part of the Diamond Jubilee Grand Prix in Macau.

The second weekend, running from Thursday November 14th through to Sunday November 17th, will include the three prestigious headline races: The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix, the 47th running of the Macau Motorcycle Grand Prix and the final rounds of the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Also at the weekend will be the Macau GT Cup and the Macau Road Sport Challenge.

New to the programme for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations are the Lotus Greater China Race and the Master Challenge. The Lotus Greater China Race is an exclusive, one-make event, featuring a special limited edition Lotus Elise 1.6 Club Racer.
