Sini’s Chevrolet Camaro tops first official Superstars test

The Superstars Series kicked off at Monza with the first official pre-season test. Solaris Motorsport surprised the paddock as Francesco Sini with the all-new Chevrolet Camaro clocked the best laptime of the day ahead of Andrea Larini.

Larini, based in Tuscany, will be at the wheel of a Jaguar XF-R this year, the same car which won last year at Monza in the hands of Max Pigoli. Also present at the test was the recently-announced Luigi Ferrara, who took the Roma Racing Team Mercedes C63 AMG Coupè out on track and ended up not too far from the leader.

Johan Kristoffersson and Massimiliano Fantini had their first taste of the revamped Porsche Panamera S, run by Petri Corse, while Roberto Benedetti was behind the wheel of a completely rebuilt Cadillac CTS-V run by RC Motorsport. The Cadillac could be among the protagonists at the season opener in Monza, where the potential of the American engine should play a big part.

With the season starting in just ten days, all teams are now preparing for their first racing weekend of the 2013 season.
