The WTCC grid as of today

The deadline for entry in this year’s World Touring Car Championship closed last week. With RML’s announcement this morning that Yvan Muller and Tom Chilton will drive two of the team’s Chevrolet Cruzes this season the majority of the field is in place.

Special Tuning Racing and Wiechers-Sport have confirmed they will be on the grid but are yet to announce their drivers. STR are expected to run up to two SEAT Leóns whilst it will be just the one BMW 320 TC for Wiechers-Sport.

The Tuenti Racing Team will likely run additional cars as well as Pepe Oriola’s, with Fernando Monje expected to be one of the team’s drivers.

A few other teams (which would be new to the WTCC, or at least new full time entrants) have also been working towards competing this season and may still be on the grid.

And that’ll be the news that Swedish team Nika Racing will now join the grid with one Chevrolet Cruze this year. Added above

News is out that Fredy Barth will drive the Wiechers-Sport BMW this season.
