Fredy Barth parts ways with SEAT

Swiss driver Fredy Barth has announced that he will no longer be working with SEAT after a nine year association with the Spanish manufacturer.

The 33-year-old, who drove for two full seasons of the World Touring Car Championship between 2010 and 2011 under the banner of SEAT Swiss Racing with the SUNRED Engineering team, as well as for the final two rounds of 2012, will not be returning to the grid with them this season, despite attempting to put a new programme together over the winter.

“After long and careful consideration the die is cast for the 2013 season and my racing future. As a consequence, SEAT and I have parted. It is a separation by mutual agreement, with great mutual goodwill and a tear in my eye,” he said.

Barth plans to announce his plans for 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th.
