Yvan Muller confirms return to the WTCC grid in 2013

Three-time WTCC champion Yvan Muller has said he will return to the grid for the 2013 season for an as-yet unspecified team.

The 43-year-old, who finished third in the drivers’ championship last season in a hotly contested battle with his two Chevrolet team-mates Alain Menu and champion Rob Huff, posted on his Facebook account his itinerary for the year, which is exactly the same as the 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship calendar.

The Frenchman, who won the drivers’ title with SEAT in 2008 and Chevrolet in 2010 and 2011, will therefore be on the grid with one of several teams which are yet to confirm their entry or driver line-ups, which includes RML, who ran the Chevrolet programme between 2005-2012 and have been linked with running a privateer programme with the Chevrolet Cruze this season.

RML are understood to be announcing their plans for 2013 very shortly.
