2013 STCC calendar nearing completion

The calendar for the 2013 STCC is long overdue but likely to be revealed within the coming weeks.
“The good thing with the calendar is that we are only doing one race on each track,” said Bob Huzell, head of STCC AB to gp.se.

The split between STCC and TTA this year saw three new tracks being formed, Solvalla, Östersund and Tierp Arena. Combined with the existing tracks, there are more tracks then available dates on the STCC calendar, which is why STCC has opted to do only one race per circuit in 2013.

The so far confirmed tracks for 2013 are Knutstorp for the premiere on the 4th of May, Gothenburg and Solvalla in June, on a calendar that likely will feature eight races. That leaves five available spots which should include Mantorp Park, Tierp Arena, Karlskoga, Falkenberg and Anderstorp.

Question marks remain regarding Östersund, going in to financial difficulties after their premiere race in 2012, as well as Sturup and Jyllandsringen. The two last circuits are expected to be off the calendar for 2013.
