Susie Wolff retires from DTM after 2012
Susie Wolff will retire from the DTM at the end of this weekend. The Scot will bring her seven-year programme with Mercedes to an end after having been appointed as one of the Williams F1 developement drivers in April, which will increase her committments outside the touring-car world.
“Driving for Mercedes in the DTM has been an incredible journey and I am very proud to have been part of such a great team,” said the 29-year-old.
“Along the way I have enjoyed some really exciting racing, had some tough fights and met some brilliant people. I am very grateful and feel lucky to have achieved this and will always be thankful for the opportunity given to me.”
Wolff added that she would have liked to achieve better results this season.
“The DTM has been a challenge and it’s disappointing to not have achieved my best results this season. I always pushed hard, however, and I’m proud of what I’ve achieved in my racing career at the highest level.”
Susie Wolff has 70 DTM starts to her name and she collected points on two occasions since 2006. Hockenheim will also mark David Coulthard’s last race with Mercedes.
