Alx Danielsson is back behind the wheel
Alx Danielsson crashed hard in qualifying for the penultimate TTA race of 2012 at Tierp Arena. But the Citroën driver is back for the TTA finale at Gothenburg City Arena this weekend despite rib injuries.
“I am still in a lot of pain, but we did an x-ray earlier this week and it looked good. We are going to be there this weekend and I am aiming for the top,” said Danielsson.
Danielsson had his best weekend so far when the TTA visited Gothenburg in June earlier this year with pole position and second place in the race.
“We have settings on the car that we know work very well here. We were really fast here in June, just as we were at Tierp Arena two weeks ago. And I was just about to set my quickest lap when I crashed, I think we could have been 1-2 on the grid. I think we are going to have several drivers from our team in the top this weekend,” said Danielsson.
The former WSR champion joined Brovallen Design for the second race of the year and has since then been the top performer of the team.
“We have been able to find a strong setup for the car. We haven’t really had a poor weekend all year, even if things have been tough, we have still been quite close to the top. But the weather could spice things up this weekend,” said Danielsson.
Rain is forecasted for the final race of the year at Gothenburg and the teams have so far not driven the TTA cars at the City Arena circuit in the wet.
“That could turn things around. But I think we are going to be in the top straight away, both me and my team mate Jocke Mangs,” said Danielsson.
