Ricky Taylor announced as second GRM Gold Coast driver

Garry Rogers Motorsport has signed British-born Sports Car driver Ricky Taylor for the Gold Coast 600.

The 23 year-old has been racing a Chevrolet Corvette for Wayne Taylor Racing in the US Rolex Sports Car Series alongside Italian Max Angelelli. The pair finished second in the championship in both 2010 and 2011 and are currently ninth in the 2012 standings with one round remaining.

Taylor is looking forward to making his V8 Supercars debut on the streets of the Gold Coast: “I am very excited about the opportunity to race with Garry Rogers’ team at the Gold Coast. I have heard a lot about the event and can’t wait to participate.”

Canadian Indycar star James Hinchcliffe will join Taylor on the Gold Coast after being announced as the first of GRM’s international co-drivers earlier this week. Both will join GRM for the international co-drivers test day to be held at Queensland Raceway on October 17.
