Spengler quickest in warm up at Brands Hatch

Bruno Spengler set the quickest time in the warm up session at Brands Hatch for BMW with a lap time of 42.267s. The Lausitzring winner finished 0.068s ahead of the Audi of Edoardo Mortara.

Fellow Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller finished in third, with his fastest time within a hundredth of a second of Spengler’s. Miguel Molina was fourth fastest for Audi with polesitter Gary Paffett fifth for Mercedes.

Audi driver Timo Scheider finished in sixth ahead of the BMW of reigning champion Martin Tomczyk. After claiming his best DTM qualifying result of second in yesterday’s session, Christian Vietoris finished in eighth for BMW. Audi driver Mattias Ekström was ninth fastest with Jamie Green rounding out the top ten for Mercedes.

Roberto Merhi was the only driver who failed to set a time after an off at Clearways early in the early stages of the thirty minute session.

The 98-lap race is due to take place at 14:03 UK time.
