Farfus tops the timesheets in FP2 at Brands Hatch

Augusto Farfus topped the timesheets for BMW in the second free practice session at Brands Hatch with a lap time of 41.312s.

Farfus’ result meant BMW finished on top of both free practice sessions, with reigning champion Martin Tomczyk claiming the fastest time in yesterday’s first practice session. The BMW driver finished the second free practice session in third behind the Audi of Mattias Ekström.

The top finisher of the ninety minute session for Mercedes was Gary Paffett in fourth. Miguel Molina rounded out the top five for Audi ahead of fellow Audi drivers Timo Scheider and Edoardo Mortara.

Jamie Green finished the session in eighth for Mercedes ahead of the Audis of Mike Rockenfeller and Adrien Tambay. At the end of the second session the entire 22-car field finished within eight tenths of a second of the fastest time.

DTM qualifying is due to take place at 12:40 UK time.
