Volkswagen aiming high for STCC premiere

The four Volkswagen drivers Jordi Gené, Johan Kristoffersson, Johan Stureson and Patrik Olsson are aiming high for the season start at Mantorp Park this weekend.
“We are finally here for the season start. It is our fourth year in STCC and everyone is expecting us to win,” said Tommy Kristoffersson, Team Manager.

Gené makes his STCC debut at Mantorp Park with the biogas powered Volkswagen Scirocco and he has shown strong form in pre-season testing by being fastest in the official test at Knutstorp. The Spaniard is not being modest in his expectations.
“I want to be first to win a big championship with this technology,” said Gené.

Satellite Volkswagen IPS Team Biogas with drivers Olsson and Stureson are hoping to match the pace of Gené and Kristoffersson, despite driving older specification Sciroccos.
“It is going to be interesting to see where everyone is on pace. We have had three strong test days and tried a lot of stuff, so the feeling is good,” said Stureson.
