John Thorne to sit out race day at Donington Park

Thorney Motorsport’s John Thorne has announced that he won’t be racing in tomorrow’s three BTCC races at Donington Park.

Thorne made the following announcement on Twitter this afternoon: “Thanks for all the support but we won’t be out racing tomorrow I’m afraid. Just too many issues to fix so wouldnt [sic] be fair to other drivers”

The Thorney Motorsport driver ran 15 laps in the NGTC Vauxhall Insignia the first free practice session to finish 21st. He finished the second free practice session in 22nd after an excursion off track. He finished qualifying in the same position.

According to the Thorney Motorsport account the team will still be at the track tomorrow running an open garage.
