Engine change for Cerqui drops him to the back

ROAL Motorsport driver Alberto Cerqui will start from the back of the grid for the first race of the weekend at Marrakech after a change of engine in his BMW 320 TC.

The team requested permission to change the engine after yesterday’s test session, and as a result he will start in last place for race one, but his qualifying position this afternoon will still be used to define his starting position for race two.

The Italian was 17th fastest in the first free practice session this morning, 2.3 seconds off the pace setting lap of Lukoil Racing Team’s Gabriele Tarquini in the SEAT León WTCC.
