Michel Nykjær confirmed for Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden

Michel Nykjær is going to be team mate with Rickard Rydell in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship this year.
“I am really happy to get this trust from Chevrolet Motorsport and I am looking forward to my first complete STCC season,” said Nykjær.

The Dane took part in the final two races last year, supporting Rydell in the title race, with fourth as best result.
“I got the possibility to familiarize my self with the team and all of the procedures during my two races last year and I really liked it,” said Nykjær.

Nykjær has previously claimed two DTC titles and he took part in the WTCC independents’ cup for the past two seasons.
“It feels great to welcome Michel back to Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden for this year’s STCC season. He was an incredibly valuable asset for the title fight last year and he made a perfect job for his two races. With Rickard and Michel we have got an internationally merited, experienced and very fast driver line-up that underlines our purposefulness and at the same time sends a clear message on our intentions for 2012,” said Nicklas Karlsson, Team Manager of Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden.
