Nissan set to announce 2013 V8 Supercars entry

Nissan is set to announce their participation in the 2013 V8 Supercars at a press conference in Melbourne tomorrow, according to the Australian Daily Telegraph.

The Japanese manufacturer last took part in the Australian championship in 1992 with Mark Skaife taking the title and the Bathurst 1000 crown with a Nissan Skyline R32, as shown in the picture above.

Kelly Racing has been rumored to be one of the top contenders to lead the Nissan campaign in the V8 Supercars 2013.

The introduction of the new “Car of the Future” program is reported to be the main reason for Nissan’s interest in joining the series next year. Another manufacturer reported to show strong interest in the series is Chrysler, as reported on previously.
