Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge title for ADAC Procar

The German ADAC Procar Series has announced a change of name for the 2012 season, with the series being given the title of Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge (DTC) by the DMSB sporting body.

The existing regulations are unchanged, with the ADAC Procar Series running two classes; one with cars conforming to FIA Super 2000 Appendix J 2010 & 2011 regulations (2.0 litre normally aspirated and 1.6 litre turbocharged) as Division 1, and FIA Super 1600 regulations which is named Division 2.

The series has been called ADAC Procar since 2006, when it was previously called the DMSB Production Car Championship from the 2004 season, before which it was also known as the Deutsche Tourenwagen Challenge.

“We are pleased that the teams of the ADAC PROCAR may now take part in a series awarded with a predicate,” said series organiser Rainer Bastuck.

“There will be two divisions and the points will still be distributed according to the existing system…by the end of the season, the driver with the highest score will win the title ‘DTC Sieger 2012’.”
