JTCC launch postponed by one year
The launch of the Japanese Touring Car Championship with S2000 regulations has been postponed one year.
“We have been forced to take this decision because of the large-scale damage caused by the devastating earthquake in North-East Japan earlier this year. However, we will try to have some exhibition races 2012,” said Masao Mizuno, Concorde Management Manager.
Concorde Management announced in 2010 that the championship was to be introduced in 2012, using the same regulations as used in the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
“We fully understand the reasons why Concorde Management decided to postpone the championship. From our side we will keep on supporting their plans and other similar initiatives aiming to spread Super 2000 rules,” said Marcello Lotti, WTCC promoter.
