Volkswagen launches two teams – with Johan Stureson

Volkswagen is going to run two teams in the 2012 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Two cars for Team Biogas.se with Jordi Gené and Johan Kristoffersson and two cars for IPS Motorsport with Johan Stureson and Patrik Olsson.
“We are going to have a common employer, but both teams are going to be entered for the team championship. We are going to be next to each other in the pits, but not under the same roof,” said Biogas.se Team Principal Tommy Kristoffersson.

The main news is for IPS Motorsport to switch from their BMW and earlier plans to join TTA, to run a Volkswagen satellite team.
“Tommy Kristoffersson came up with a suggestion that gives us the right conditions to continue to race in STCC. This is an exciting and interesting project and our goal is of course to be in the very top of the championship,” said Johan Stureson.

Olsson leaves the original Team Biogas.se for IPS Motorsport, a switch the Volkswagen driver is happy with.
“It is going to be inspiring to race for IPS Team Biogas with Johan Stureson. I’ve had an amazing time with Team Biogas, but I am positive to the change of environment and I am really looking forward to 2012,” said Olsson.

Team Biogas.se [Kristoffersson Motorsport] is going to run the two newer specification Volkswagen Sciroccos while IPS Team Biogas is going to run the two older specification Sciroccos.
