Han Han takes first pole at Guangdong
Shanghai Volkswagen 333 Racing’s Han Han has taken his first pole position at the Guangdong International Circuit in the Super Production Class race of the China Touring Car Championship.
Shanghai VW 333 Racing dominated qualifying, with Han Han securing pole with Gao Hua Yang second and Wang Rue fourth in their 1.6 litre turbocharged Volkswagen Polos.
The interloper was Lo Ka Chun in the 778 Autosport Kia Forte, the fastest of the Super Production Normally Aspirated (SPNA) class drivers. The fastest of the Chang’an Ford FRD team was Jiang Tengyi in fifth with Rainey He sixth.
ASR Racing’s Mike Law failed to reach the maximum qualifying time in his Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T.
In the China Production Class race, Lin Li Feng took pole in his Haima Famila with team-mate Chen Xu in second, with the top Hyundai of Ziang Zhi Qiang down in fifth.
The Super Production Class race takes place at 13:33 local time on Sunday.
