Mattias Ekström fastest in second practice

Mattias Ekström topped the second free practice session at Nürburgring, just seven thousands of a second ahead of current championship leader Bruno Spengler.

Mike Rockenfeller, who topped yesterday’s session, was third fastest ahead of Miguel Molina. The top four was covered within just 0.049 seconds.

Martin Tomczyk, who is closest to Spengler in the championship, claimed fifth fastest time ahead of Italian Audi driver Edoardo Mortara.

British drivers Gary Paffett, Mercedes, and Oliver Jarvis, Audi, claimed positions seven and eight on the very same thousand of a second with the time 1:24.790.

Timo Scheider and Jamie Green rounded off top ten.
