Tom Kristensen returns to DTM

Tom Kristensen is back with Audi in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters race at Lausitzring this weekend. The Dane replaces Mike Rockenfeller in the E-POSTBRIEF Audi A4 DTM.
“I am sorry for “Rocky” that he is going to miss the race and I wish him a speedy recovery. As I haven’t raced in DTM for two years, my comeback is of course going to be difficult,” said Kristensen.

Rockenfeller is currently recovering from his spectacular 300 km/h accident at Le Mans last weekend.
“As Rockenfeller is competing for the title in the DTM this year, his recovery is our top priority. I decided after consultation with our team doctor that he is not going to take part in the race this weekend as well as the Nürburgring 24 hour race the week after,” said Dr Wolfgang Ullrich, Audi Motorsport head.

Kristensen left DTM after the 2009 season and has since then mainly raced in the American Le Mans Series as well as the Le Mans 24 hour race for Audi.
“I look forward to see many old friends and I will try to represent “Rocky” as good as possible,” said Kristensen.
