No Speedworks Motorsport at Croft
Toyota NGTC team Speedworks Motorsport is not going to be present at the British Touring Car Championship races at Croft due to steering problems.
“We prefer not to get frustrated at not being able to make any big steps forward at Croft,” said Christian Dick, Speedworks Team Principal, to the Northwich Guardian.
This is the second time this season that Speedwork Motorsport sits out a BTCC race. The team missed the races at Thruxton, but took part in the previous race at Oulton Park with driver Tony Hughes.
“We’ve looked at how things went at Oulton Park and, while the car felt better there, it’s still not perfect,” said Dick.
The team is waiting for GPR Motorsport, the by TOCA appointed constructors of the NGTC cars, to find a solution for the technical difficulties.
“I’d prefer to wait for a 100% fix and I’m hopeful that will happen in the next couple of weeks,” said Dick.
The team is hoping to be back for the race at Snetterton in August.
