Dahlgren targeting a double points finish

Volvo’s Robert Dahlgren is targeting two points finishes as the ideal result today from a circuit which has so far favoured the 5-cylinder Volvo C30 more than any other on the calendar this season

The 2010 Scandinavian Touring Car Cup champion is sixth on the grid for the rolling start in race one, and went fastest in the morning warm-up.

Dahlgren was second quickest in the Qualifying 1 session, confessing there was no attempt to try and gain a beneficial grid spot for race two:

“We don’t have the speed or confidence at the moment to do that,” said Dahlgren to TouringCarTimes.

“It’s flat out every session from the word go for us, it’s the way we learn quickest as well”

The 31-year-old’s expectations for the race are to get points, in what may be one of the last few outings for the team’s 2.0 litre engine.

“For us to come away with points must be our target. It will be hard for us to race against the turbo cars because it’s a different beast. Even if I go quickest in sector two, where I’ve been quickest most of the weekend, it’s not a place you can overtake.”
