Andrew Jordan tops media day test
Andrew Jordan has topped the media day test session at Silverstone, ahead of the Triple Eight Race Engineering Vectra and Matt Neal.
Jordan’s best lap was 59.982, the only driver to break under the 1m mark, a feat acheived by both of Arena’s Ford Focus STs last year in qualifying at Silverstone’s National Circuit.
Tony Gilham was credited with the second fastest lap, though driving duties in the No.34 Triple Eight Vectra were shared with his team-mate James Nash.
2005-2006 champion Matt Neal was third fastest in the NGTC-powered Honda Civic.
Many of the new drivers to the series took the opportunity to clock up as many miles as possible, with Team Eurotech driver Jeff Smith ending the day with 99 laps completed, with Liam Griffin in the Motorbase Ford setting 90 laps, and West Surrey Racing’s Nick Foster setting 86.
More reaction from today’s first mass test will follow.
