Kia to run two cars this season
British-based team Chad Racing will slim down to two Kia Pro_Cee’d silhouettes this year, with different engines powering each car in the Belgian Touring Car Series.
The team put up for sale one of their race winning chassis over the winter.
“We are intending on running just two of the cars this year and are very close to confirming the driver line-up,” said Team Principal Iain Dockerill to TouringCarTimes.
The team will race one car powered by a 3.2 litre engine developed by Mountune Racing, which the team has been using regularly since entering the series. The other will be powered by a 3.4 litre AER engine, which Chad Racing started using at the end of the 2010 season in the No.7 Pro_Cee’d, driven by Dockerill and Tom Ferrier.
“There have been some engine regulation changes over the winter and the 3.4 and 3.5 litre cars will have a restriction on plenum chamber in order to slow them down,” said Dockerill.
“We will have to evaluate after the first test on how much this will be effectitve by or not”.
