Alan Gow now president of FIA Touring Car Commission

Alan Gow, Chairman of the MSA and BTCC Series Director has taken on another responsibility as president of the FIA Touring Car Commission.

Alan Gow, who was already a member of the FIA Touring Car Committee, takes over from Jonathan Ashman, who has moved over to take charge of the Rally Commission.

The Vice-President position will be filled by Andrew Craig, who joined the commission last October. Craig was the head of the CART World Series during it’s peak in the late nineties, whilst Alan Gow was managing the BTCC at the same time during its likewise strongest period.

Gow returned to the BTCC in 2004, became Chairman of the MSA (The British ASN) in 2006, and also manages the career of V8 Supercar driver James Courtney, who currently leads the championship.

Alan Gow’s responsibility as head of the commission will be to develop proposals for regulations for the FIA series governed by the commission, which will include the World Touring Car Championship and European Touring Car Cup.
