Team BOC on top in warm-up

Jason Richards & Andrew Jones were fastest in the morning warm-up ahead of today’s Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 in their rebuilt Holden Commodore, with TeamVodafone keeping to form, 2nd and 3rd.

The car was wrecked before qualifying, and so will be starting last on the grid, but the team worked hard overnight on Friday to get the car ready for the Saturday practice session – and the car’s still looking good in the warm-up.

Team owner Brad Jones said on Saturday:
“It’s an amazing job; when I looked at the car last night I thought it had a 10% chance of running today. To machine a part, fly it in from Albury, stay up all night and have it basically perfect when they put it on the set-up patch this morning is a tribute to the guys and the work they did.”

The two TeamVodafone cars, run by Triple Eight Race Engineering were second and third, with the second BJR car of Jason Bright & Matt Halliday fourth.

The top Ford was the Jim Beam Racing entry of Steven Johnson and Marcus Marshall in sixth.
