First pictures of NGTC Toyota Avensis

James Thompson made the first public appearance with the NGTC specification Toyota Avensis prototype during the first free practice session at Brands Hatch. The Brit completed 14 laps with the car, setting 51.871 as the fastest time.

The NGTC regulations, Next Generation Touring Car, is going to be introduced in the BTCC 2011.

The new rules features a two liter turbo charged four cylinder engine, a lot of common parts such as gearbox, full front / rear suspension and more. Read the complete specifications by clicking here.

Thompson is going to take part in the second free practice session later today as well as doing further demonstration laps during the lunch break tomorrow.

Other than the BTCC, the Scandinavian championship is considering a switch to the NGTC regulations in 2012.
