Strong WRC finish for Yvan Muller

While Yvan Muller retired on the first day of the French WRC, the Chevrolet WTCC-driver could rejoin the rally under Superally regulations and complete a strong finish.
“I’m disappointed because my car stopped 100 metres from the control board and I am from Mulhouse and I really wanted to go to the town with all my friends watching,” said Muller.

Once back in the rally again, Muller finished in the top ten in a number of stages and was fastest of all in special stage 17.

The Frenchman was driving a Citroën Xsara for the Peter Solberg World Rally Team and said that one of the biggest challenges in his WRC debut was to listen to the pacenotes.

“To take the notes in the recce took a lot of energy. It’s also not natural for me to have a voice telling you what to do and to be able to listen to that voice,” said Muller.
