Toyota confirm two of their endurance drivers
Toyota Team Argentina have confirmed two of their endurance drivers for this years Buenos Aires 200km race, with World Series by Renault driver Esteban Guerrieri joining the team.
Esteban Guerrieri will partner the team’s lead driver, Mariano Werner in the No.9 Toyota Corolla at the prestigious endurance event in South America in November.
Guerrieri is having a strong season in the Formula Renault 3.5 championship, currently fourth in the points standings driving for the ISR team.
“It’s always nice to run my country in such important race events and where there is so much at stake,” said Guerrieri.
“I am grateful to Toyota Team Argentina for the invitation to join its team. Last year I ran for the first time in the TC2000 and really enjoyed it, so I have high expectations of repeating that experience and to fight for a good result for TTA”.
Guerrieri will get to test the car next week at the Autódromo Oscar Cabalén in Córdoba.
Agustín Canapino has also been confirmed as the partner for Facundo Ardusso in the No.10 Corolla. The 20-year old driver competed last year in the endurance events for the rival Equipo Petrobras Honda team, whilst Guerrieri raced for the Renault outfit.
Toyota Team Argentina will announce their remaining endurance drivers over the coming days. The only other team to confirm any of its endurance runners so far is Equipo Petrobras, with WTCC driver Gabriele Tarquini confirmed to partner José María López.
