Magnussen ready for Gothenburg despite recent surgery

Jan Magnussen confirms that he is going to take part in the combined STCC and DTC race this weekend in Gothenburg despite his recent kidney stone surgery.
“I feel good now, but this is something that I would not even wish for my worst enemies,” said Magnussen to the official championship site.

For this weekend Magnussen is going to switch to a Chevrolet Lacetti from his BMW 320si.

“We have had so many problems with our BMW-cars that we had to take this decision. We are going to run this as a one-car team, not ideal and it gives us a disadvantage for this weekend,” said Magnussen.

Magnussen is expecting hard opposition from the Swedish drivers this weekend, just as during the premiere at Jyllandsringen in april.

“We thought we were going to have an advantage at Jyllandsringen, but that was not the case. The Danish teams have to work harder and that is good for the sport,” said Magnussen.

The Gothenburg City Race Arena is completely new for Magnussen and he is going to prepare by driving a simulator.

“I love city races even if it potentially can become costly. I am going to practice in my nephiews simulator,” said Magnussen.
