Ekblom claims first ever Volkswagen pole position

Fredrik Ekblom claimed the first ever pole position for Volkswagen in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. The Team Biogas.se driver lapped the track in 1:07.322, one tenth faster than Robert Dahlgren of Volvo.

Thed Björk was third fastest, close to four tenths behind Ekblom’s best time, with Tommy Rustad in fourth.

Jan “Flash” Nilsson claimed fifth, just two thousands of a second ahead of previous race winner Mattias Andersson.

Patrik Olsson claimed seventh ahead of a struggling Richard Göransson in eigth, eight tenths behind Ekblom.
