Glenn Seton to join Kelly Racing at endurance rounds
Glenn Seton will race at the endurance events this year with Kelly Racing, after sitting out in 2009.
The veteran and former series champion, has not won the Bathurst 1000km, but like many this year, sees the new rules preventing teams from pairing up their full time drivers together as the best opportunity to repeat the feat his father Bo acheived when Glenn was just five months old, in 1965.
Which of the Kelly Racing drivers, Jason Bargwanna, Rick Kelly or Todd Kelly that Glenn will team up with hasn’t been decided yet. Glenn said:
“Bathurst is a very special race and I’m still looking to conquer it. Whether I’m racing with Todd, Rick or Bargs, all three are former Bathurst winners and are certainly capable of winning again there this October.
“It’s a very exciting time for me and I’m as determined as ever to give Phillip Island and Bathurst a really good crack with Kelly Racing.”
Glenn raced for Ford throughout his V8 Supercars career, before appearing with the Holden Racing Team at the endurance events in 2007 & 2008, but effectively in the squads ‘B team’ – pairing with Nathan Pretty and Craig Baird respectively.
Seton will get his first taste of the Holden Commodore this year, as he drives the #11 Rock car of Bargwanna in practice at Winton on Friday.
