Yvan Muller predicts a close season

Yvan Muller is going to make his Chevrolet debut in the FIA World Touring Car Championship in less than one week.
“This will be the first real opportunity to see where the competition stands,” said Muller.

Chevrolet is the only manufacturer in the WTCC that has not pulled down their effort ahead of the 2010 season. But Muller still thinks the fight is going to be hard.

“Personally, I am convinced that everybody has progressed, but we need to see how big a step forward has been made by each manufacturer.

Although these questions are quite usual at this time of the year, my inner feeling is that it will be a very competitive and close championship, as in previous years,” said Muller.

Last season Chevrolet had an absolute catastrophe of a season start at Curitiba in Brazil. None of the team’s three drivers managed to score points in the two races.

But Muller is confident ahead of the race this year and predict that the team is going to perform “ok”.

“I think we should be OK in Curitiba, but much will depend on qualifying and also on how well we will play with slip streaming, always a crucial factor in Curitiba,” said Muller.
