Toyota confirm full line-up
Toyota Team Argentina have confirmed their four driver line-up for the 2010 championship, with Mariano Werner already confirmed for the team – the squad have added Facundo Ardusso, Bernardo Llaver and Francisco Troncoso.
Mariano Werner drove for TTA last season, finishing seventh in the overall standings.
“This will be my third season with TTA and seek my best to bring Toyota and other sponsors who have joined us to the place that they deserve. Last year we had a strong season with the new Corolla and I’m sure this year will be even better” said Werner.
The team’s test driver, Facundo Ardusso, will step-up to the top flight after winning the Formula Renault 1.6 championship in ’09.
“This is a dream come true for me and a goal for which we work hard. Last year I had the honor of being chosen by the TTA to compete in one of their cars during the last three events of the season and that experience will be very important to start the first race with peace of mind. Also my aim will be to learn race after race and give everything in my power for the benefit of all the Toyota Team Argentina”.
Toyota have also signed up the runner-up from Formula Renault Argentina, 19 year old Francisco Troncoso – so last year’s single seater rivals will become team mates at the TC2000 team, chasing their first championship since 2001, which was won by departing driver, Norberto Fontana.
Joining them will be Bernardo Llaver, who raced last season in an independent Honda Civic.
The team will shortly begin testing for the new season, which is due to start on March 20th, though the location of events is still to be confirmed.
