Team Vodafone dominate Bahrain practice
Team Vodafone have set the pace in the first day of practice at Bahrain, with Craig Lowndes topping the times heet.
Team mate Jamie Whincup and double race winner last time out, was right behind him.
Craig believes that tyres are vital this weekend:
“We made a number of adjustments throughout the first set of tyres and it was always difficult because obviously as you do more running the tyres become worse and it’s very hard to define whether it was the change that made the oversteer or the understeer or if it was the tyres.”
Shane Van Gisbergen was best of the rest, with his Stone Brothers Racing Ford Falcon third fastest in the final session.
“The car is setup is good for qualifying but I think we need work on a bit more traction for the race. And just make sure it looks after the tyres over the 200kms tomorrow. ”
Holden Racing team mates Will Davison and Garth Tander were in the top 10, the two drivers setting times within one-thousandth of a second of each other.
